Theater Community Pledges To 'Be A Light' For Social Justice

The Ghostlight Project's national "Be A Light" campaign was observed by the local theater community Thursday night at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse on Centenary College's campus in Shreveport. The campaign began in New York and more than 100 theaters across the country hosted events for their local communities. At 5:30 p.m. the attendees shined individuals lights into the sky to make one beam of light as a symbol of solidarity. The mission of the gathering was to show unity in the pursuit of inclusion, diversity, equality and justice for people of all backgrounds and to provide a safe place within the theater community.
