Showtime's Emmy-winning series on climate change, "Years of Living Dangerously" is receiving another prestigious award this week. The series will receive the Environmental Media Association's Outstanding Achievement for Environmental Content Award at the 24th annual Environmental Media Awards on Saturday at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Calif. "Years of Living Dangerously" pairs the expertise of respected journalists with the star-power of celebrated actors such as Harrison Ford, Jessica Alba, Don Cheadle and Ian Somerhalder to explore the human impact of climate of change. And through interviews with people on all sides of the issue, from Alaska, to Washington D.C., and even in Northwest Florida's Apalachicola, the nine episode series delves into the ongoing debate over climate change. The Apalachicola segment features two life-long oystermen taking a group out into Apalachicola Bay, an area known for its much sought-after oysters, to show them how drought caused by climate change and rising seas has led to the decimation of oyster beds.
