Film Festival Celebrates Jewish?Culture

This Saturday the festival will open with a screening of the documentary Rock in the Red Zone, about the vibrant music scene that sprang up in the 1990s among the children of North African and Middle Eastern immigrants living in the war-torn town of Sderot, and a performance by one of the film’s subjects, popular Israeli singer Hagit Yaso. Organizers are hoping for 500 people.
