Madhuri Dixit works with UNICEF

The veteran Bollywood actor will raise awareness of children’s and women’s rights in India. Speaking about her new appointment, Dixit stated: “I am honoured to associate with UNICEF in an effort to bring focus to issues concerning women and children in Indian society. “As an ambassador for children’s rights, I will work hard to give a voice to those who have none. My hope is that through these efforts, we will together change the lives of many in India.”
The Hindi film celebrity said that she is currently spending time understanding the various dimensions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Dixit is expected to visit UNICEF-supported programmes across the country, meeting with government officials and seeking their participation in advocacy events.
