Shabana Azmi dips into her celebrity clout each year to put together a star studded fashion show for charity. Azmi, who brings together Bollywood?? big names for Mijwan Welfare Society, a charity that works on empowerment of rural Indian women, this time has a theme of parent-child star couples walking the ramp. Farhan Akhtar, who will walk the ramp with father Javed Akhtar, spoke to Pinkvilla exclusively on his participation. "Mijwan is an initiative that Shabana Azmi, Namrata Goyal and Manish Malhotra have been immensely involved in from many years now. They hold this show every year to raise awareness and to empower women in Rural India. Though they are family to me, I still feel the need to associate with this initiative as I have a personal angle to it as well. See I also have an initiative MARD which is also to empower women, so I understand about Mijwan as well. I am immensely proud to be associated with both these initiatives. Such initiatives are exceedingly important and civil society should also take part in such initiatives. The Mijwan Welfare Society has been much focused every year and I will walk the ramp for raising awareness."
