Cosmic Heart Gallery, nestled in a vibrant neighbourhood in South Bombay, began as a passion project born from Jalpa H. Vithalani's deep love for art. Launched on December 20th, 2012, the gallery has hosted over 300 exhibitions and events in its 12 years of existence. Known for its unique exhibitions and curations, Cosmic Heart Gallery piques the interests of its patrons, staying true to its mission of providing exquisite art that delights and transcends borders. The gallery believes that the boundaries of language and geography are shed when we express the best of humanity through the medium of art.

The Art Exhibitions at Cosmic Heart Gallery

The gallery's repertoire includes a one-of-a-kind musical evening at the Haji Ali Dargah showcasing calligraphic art straight from Persia, presenting the original limestone presses of Raja Ravi Varma, showcasing Indian artists at ArtBAB in Bahrain under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife Of His Majesty The King Of Bahrain, working closely with JJ School of Art and its students, representing India at international forums like the United Nations, and being part of the prestigious Arts Committee for Business & Professional Women International (present in 100 countries). These achievements reflect the gallery's long-standing relationship with the global art fraternity.

Collaborative Efforts in Conservation Through Art

One of the gallery's recent special curations is "Eye of the Tiger," a collection that hails from the region of Ranthambore, synonymous with the National Park and its many initiatives to conserve our national animal, the tiger, and its biodiversity. The exhibition "Eye of the Tiger" stands as a testament to the majestic aura of this mighty cat that reigns supreme in the verdant jungles of India. Featuring over 100 remarkable artworks, this collection captures the true essence of the tiger, revered by all who encounter its majestic presence. With each stroke of the brush, over 200 village artists breathe life into their creations, offering a glimpse into the soul of the wild.

The exhibition is more than just a showcase of art dedicated to the striped cat that rules the jungles; it is rather a coming together of forces that believe in the transformative power of art and culture in bringing attention to conservation matters at large. This collaborative effort, under the visionary leadership of Bittu Sahgal and in partnership with the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, the Sanctuary Nature Foundation, and YES Private – YES Bank, is a true convergence of artistic brilliance, heartfelt passion, and unwavering commitment to supporting homegrown talent and wildlife conservation. "We have curated the show in a unique way, bringing the magnificent animal to life in more ways than one. The echoes of nature's symphony reverberate in every brushstroke. Each painting is like a photograph; that is how alive and detailed these breathtaking compositions are," says Jalpa H. Vithalani, Founder of Cosmic Heart Gallery.

Women Entrepreneurs Committee Meeting at the Gallery

During our visit to the gallery to witness this spectacular exhibition, we encountered a special event: the first meeting of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA) was held at Cosmic Heart Gallery. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Dhanashri Hardas, who was recently appointed as the Chairperson of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee. In her address, Dr. Hardas spoke about the 97-year-old legacy of the MACCIA and emphasized the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs and highlighting their progressive trajectory on the commercial map. She elaborated on the necessity of providing an ecosystem for aspiring entrepreneurs and training for those already established to foster mutual growth.

The event also featured Jalpa Vithalani as the chief guest, who spoke passionately about the efforts of artisans across India and offered her support to all those present. The guest of honour, Vice President Sangeeta Patil, shared her vision for development and conveyed her best wishes and willingness to assist in the work of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee. Co-chairs Shilpa Jain and Shweta Inamdar, along with Chief Patron Asawari Deshmukh and GC member Rekha Pagdhare, along with other members, introduced themselves and pledged their time and expertise to the chamber. The meeting concluded with a special viewing of the "Eye of the Tiger" exhibition, providing an inspiring backdrop to the discussions on empowering women in the commercial ecosystem.

A Confluence of Art, Nature, and Empowerment

The combination of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee meeting and the "Eye of the Tiger" exhibition highlights the deep connection between art, nature, and the role of women in shaping the future of India.
