11th edition of South Asia's biggest film festival to be held from May 20-24, 2020.

The 11th edition of KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival returns to Mumbai in May 2020. One of India's top fashion designers Wendell Rodricks will judge the international poster contest being held to design the look for the film festival. The winner gets a cash prize of Rs 25,000, instituted by Rodricks. South Asia's biggest LGBTQ film festival will be held from May 20-24, 2020 in Mumbai. The theme for the festival, which will celebrate its 11th anniversary, is "Moving Forward, Together!"

“As we send out a call for the best Poster for KASHISH 2020, I wish that the new poster reflects the ethos of our LGBTQ times in South Asia. We desire inclusivity to move forward for equality and dignity to move forward into the future for everyone in today’s world ” said Rodricks.

The winning design will be used on billboards (hoardings), banners, cinema slides, delegate cards, T-shirts and catalog cover. The submission form can be accessed at https://tinyurl.com/K19PosterForm

Festival Director Sridhar Rangayan said that the festival is now looking beyond after celebrating its 10th-anniversary last year, “There is so much work to be done yet, in terms of spreading awareness about acceptance by families and society," said Rangayan.

The KASHISH theme this year is ‘Moving Forward, Together!’. "It’s already over a year since reading down of Sec 377, and the LGBTQ community in India is still celebrating. But apart from the legal change, have things changed at a societal level, is there more acceptance? What about the marginalized sections within the LGBTQI+ spectrum? The festival theme of the 11th edition of KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival 2020 will focus on the steps needed to ‘Moving Forward, Together!’ to ensure equality & dignity for everyone and we are looking for a poster that reflects the theme," added Rangayan.

Film submissions have also opened on the FilmFreeWay platform and the festival hopes to receive entries from across the world. Early-bird discount of 20% available till December 8th. The final deadline for submissions is January 31, 2020. Submit films at https://filmfreeway.com/KASHISH2020
