Women rally for cancer prevention

Women behind the wheels wrote a new chapter in cancer prevention initiatives at the 6th edition of Lavasa Women’s Drive (LWD) on Saturday. This year, LWD, India’s largest women’s car rally, had 2,000 participants who drove from Pune and Mumbai in cars decorated with slogans championing the cause of cancer prevention. Bollywood celebrities Purab Kohli, Kirti Kulhari and Hasleen Kaur flagged off the event from VITS, Pune and the 700 ladies swooshed by one by one towards Lavasa, the culmination point. The participants wore exclusively-designed Lavasa Women’s Drive T-shirts and stunning hats – sticking to this year’s theme of ‘Hats off to LWD’. The 150 cars that left venue, too, donned giant hats.
