Edward Norton Launches Crowdrise Campaign For Syrian Refugee

On Saturday, actor and CrowdRise co-founder Edward Norton launched a fundraiser for a Syrian refugee whose story had gone viral thanks to Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York (HONY) and President Obama. Stanton shared the CrowdRise fundraiser around 5pm on Saturday evening and within an hour the fundraiser had already raised over $100,000 for the The Scientist, a Syrian refugee featured in his “The Syrian American” series. Since then, the fundraiser has received over 13,000 donations and has raised over $380,000. The average donation to the page is roughly $30. A perfect example of what CrowdRise is about – the power of the crowd to drive impact.
