India Cuts Carbon Emissions By 12%

India has successfully submitted its first ?Biennial Update Report? to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).The report states that the Energy Sector contributes more than 70 percent greenhouse gas emissions (GHG's).The Energy sector includes fuel combustion in industries, electricity production, as well as transport and fugitive emissions.In the year 2010, India emitted 2,136.84 million tonnes of carbon equivalent greenhouse gases. The report also highlights carbon emission cuts made by India between the years 2005 and 2010. Read More at www.skymetweather.com
