Partially and total visually-impaired Indian children of the Andh Kanya Prakash Gruh institute taking basic self defence lessons from instructors Rangrej Haji Mohamed and Siddhi Dave at their campus in Ahmedabad ahead of International Women’s Day. The instructors have started to provide free basic self defence lessons thrice a week from a month ago to strengthen the children’s confidence and prepare them to combat possible assailants.

International Women’s Day falls today. The growing worldwide demand for resources is threatening the world’s environmental health to an unprecedented extent. There is widespread agreement that unless new and more effective policies are set in place, this situation could have devastating implications for human development.
