In a career spanning over five decades, the 73-year-old has portrayed varied characters. Actor Tanuja, a veteran actor who is known for her roles in films like Jewel Thief (1967), Haathi Mere Saathi (1971)and Anubhav (1971), Tanuja Mukerji is all set to make her TV debut with the historical drama Aarambh, on Star Plus. In the upcoming show, Mukherji will be seen as Hahuma - a clairvoyant. Talking about the show, she said, “Through visuals, this show will bring forth how a matriarchal society became patriarchal. But, I believe, there should be an equality among humans whether it is a girl or a boy. And through this show, we are trying to bring the change.”
