Directors, writers, and actors are able to create a visual, thought provoking, emotional journey that will pull an audience through a story with a unique voice in a way mainstream cinema sometimes is unable to. For 18 years, the Banff Mountain Film Festival has taken Grande Prairians on these journeys of the imagination. “(People are attracted to the festival), I think, for a sense of adventure. We all have that desire to go out and do something big and this is just a really inspirational night. People see things that they have no clue that people out there are doing and a lot of the films people can resonate with the people who are in the films because, quite often, it’s about regular people doing extraordinary things,” said Jodi Henry, who brought the festival to Grande Prairie.
