Blonde Redhead Kicks Off This Year's Bicycle Film Festival

The 17th Annual Bicycle Film Festival [do not type 'rolls' do not type 'rolls'] returns to NYC next week with over 50 short and feature length films from over 25 countries, starting with a special screening featuring a live score performed by the always interesting noise rock trio Blonde Redhead. The band wrote a new score for the 1976 cycling documentary A Sunday in Hell. Here's a look at the film with the old, original score: The new score has never been released or performed, and the band will be accompanied by a live string section for the Wednesday night debut. The film itself chronicles the Paris-Roubaix cycling race, which features "some of the greatest cyclists ever competing in the most prestigious single-day event in professional bike racing," according to the festival organizers.
