Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Hollywood actress Freida Pinto on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed how they can support his ‘Swachh Bharat’ and the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaigns. Martin and Pinto were accompanied by representatives of the Global Poverty Project. They met Modi as a follow-up to last year’s Global Citizen Festival in New York where the prime minister had called for a global movement to end poverty and provide universal sanitation. During Thursday’s meeting, the delegation discussed how they can support Modi’s initiative to provide universal sanitation throughout India by 2019.
