For Pathan brothers, charity matters

MUMBAI: There is something that the Pathan brothers —Yusuf and Irfan— share with cricket legends like Imran Khan and Steve Waugh. These greats were as well-known for their philanthropy as they were for excellence on the ground. Both won plenty of plaudits for their charity work, but not many know that the Pathan brothers too are no less good Samaritans.

“Seven-eight years back, we set up a trust in our father’s (Mehboob Khan name. Both of us contribute 40-50 per cent of our earning to the trust. This money is used to educate poor kids, help widows, aid cancer patients in hospitals, finance marriages of poor people, help old couples who have no one to take care of them,” Yusuf told TOI in an interview on Thursday. “The idea to set up the trust came from my father.
