Hiring in the media and entertainment industry rose 9 per cent in the 12 months to May 2015, thanks to increased penetration of digital media, satellite TV, and wide scale adoption of smartphones, a report says.
According to the Times Jobs Recruite X data, the demand for entertainment, media and journalism professionals went up by 9 per cent between May 2014 and May 2015. “The rise in talent demand in this industry can be directly attributed to the growth of multimedia consumption in India with the increased penetration of digital media, satellite TV, and the wide scale adoption of smartphones,” TimesJobs.com COO Vivek Madhukar said.
