How Toronto International Film Festival Is Planning To Expand Its Global Footprint & Widen Its Focus

Then something happened that brought “tears to our eyes”, as Anup Singh, the Genevabased director of Qissa recalls.
“Members of the audience, who happened to pass by our table, set on the roadside, would simply clap and applaud around us before going on. They wouldn’t disturb our dinner, they would very respectfully smile and go on,” says Singh, whose film in Punjabi went on to win the Best Asian Film award at the festival that year.
