Immersive Film Festival Will Celebrate The Legacy Of John Hughes

You may not be able to find Shermer, Illinois, on a map, but the town where director John Hughes set some of his most beloved films will be a real place for at least four days this summer. As the Chicago Reader reports, the folks behind last year’s Ferris Fest will follow up their 30th anniversary celebration of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with an immersive festival celebrating the entirety of Hughes’ oeuvre. This one isn’t your average film festival — The Shermer Club: A John Hughes Fest will feature film screenings with cast members, a luxury bus tour to filming locations, and, perhaps most notably, a no-holds-barred reenactment of the iconic wedding scene from Sixteen Candles.
