In an interview with the BBC in November, the actor said she found the conversation “vulgar”, adding: “I don’t think that’s a very nice conversation to have publicly at all.” She went on to speculate that her nationality might make her more reticent than some of her colleagues about discussing salaries, and to say that she felt she was a “lucky woman” happy with her lot.
