Meryl Streep And Seth Meyers To Be Honored At 2017 HRC Greater New York Gala On Saturday

Reminder: The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organization, will honor the groundbreaking film Moonlight, as well as actress Meryl Streep and comedian Seth Meyers at the 2017 HRC Greater New York Gala on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Moonlight, which tells the story of a young black gay man, is inspired by the play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue by Tarell Alvin McCraney, who will accept the award on behalf of the film. HRC recently sat down with the film’s writer and director, Barry Jenkins, as well as McCraney, to discuss the groundbreaking film and the issues of bullying and masculinity.
