Muslim Film Festival Returns For Third Year In Milwaukee

The third annual Milwaukee Muslim Film Festival begins Monday with another wide-ranging sample of movies made in the Muslim world. The festival, a project of the Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition, includes six movies shown through early May. This year's festival venues include UWM Union Cinema, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd.; Landmark Oriental Theatre, 2230 N. Farwell Ave.; Times Cinema, 5906 W. Vliet St.; and Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road, Fox Point. Monday's festival opener, showing at UWM Union Cinema, is "Salam Neighbor,” a documentary following two American filmmakers who embed themselves in a Syrian refugee camp to show what daily life is like there.
