Patty Jenkins has closed a deal to direct Jackpot, a remake of a Norwegian action comedy being made by Focus Features. The 2011 original, directed by Magnus Martens, told of four men with shady pasts who win big in a sports pool. When it comes to dividing the winnings, however, things escalate to lethal proportions. The movie is based on a story by Jo Nesbo, the best-selling crime author whose book Headhunters also was adapted into a movie. David Callaham, whose credits range from the Expendables to Godzilla, is writing the script. Will Gluck is producing via his Olive Bridge banner.
