Richa, who is an ardent animal lover, is now working towards protecting horses from the daily torture of drawing carriages and has joined hands with the animal welfare organization PETA.After the Bombay High Court passed a rule to eliminate the trend of horse drawn carriages from Mumbai within a year, now Richa Chadda decided to support the directive and has decided to spread awareness about the same. Bollywood Hungama has a copy of the letter written by the actress, which has been addressed to the Joint Commissioner of Police Dr. B. K. Upadhyay saying, “Malnourished horses are being used to give joyrides to children at 7 Bungalows Rd in Juhu, Versova every evening and sometimes during the day, too, wreaking havoc with traffic. As the High Court of Bombay acknowledged, horses and cars don’t mix. Horses can jam up traffic, causing drivers to honk their horns and attempt to pass the animals.” Throwing light on the condition of horses, the actress further writes, “Horses are easily spooked by loud noises and have often been hit by cars, resulting in serious injuries to horses and people of even deaths.
