Sonam Kapoor, who had so far been silently spreading awareness about cancer, will now actively raise funds for unprivileged patients. ??onam joins hands with Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar to be a part of their cause ??a cancer charity??says a source close to the actor.

Azmi and Akhtar are close family friends of the Kapoors. When Sonam came to know about their initiative through her dad, Anil Kapoor, she expressed her wish to indulge in charity along with the duo. The event will be an auction of impressive handicrafts inspired by Indian cinema. ??he auction will also see actors sharing anecdotes on the 100 years of cinema,??says the source.

Sonam has been supporting the cause for cancer patients since 2009.
