Spanish cinema has achieved high marks of recognition. The 5^th edition of Jagran Film Festival presents an exciting line-up of Spanish cinema under the section Jagran Shots.

Travelling to 16 cities across 7 states, the festival aims to bring the rich movie culture to its audience across India. To be held from 22nd September, 2014 to 28th September, 2014 at PVR Andheri and Cinemax Versova, JFF is the country’s only travelling film festivalthat covers the largest geographical area. 

Jagran Shots will screen renowned and award winning Spanish movies. Following are the movies to lookout for during the festival:

• ·         ​​A Political Story by director Lander Camarero, PVR Andheri, 24^th September, 2014 at 2.00 pm

Lauren C. Carroll writes a political documentary and specifically chooses a political Spanish actor to star in it. Filming soon reveals problems in communication and farcical moments, with hilarious implications in places

• ·         Cólera  by director Aritz Moreno, PVR Andheri, 24^th September, 2014 at 2.00 pm

Cólera was selected for multiple film festivals worldwide like the Austin Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival, and received a Special Mention at the Mecal Short Film Festival in Barcelona. The movie starts with a group of angry villagers taking justice in their own hands: they need to get rid of a solitary zombie-like man in their village, and quickly, before he will infect more people.

• ·         Democracia by director Borja Cobeaga, PVR Andheri, 24^th September, 2014 at 2.00 pm

Outstanding actors Óscar Ladoire and Luis Bermejo, both popular supporting actors in Spanish cinema, bring to life the two faces of the story: a boss who wants to motivate his employees to exploit them and a brown-nosing employee who is willing to do anything to be upgraded and win.

• ·         Minerita by director Raul De La Fuente , PVR Andheri, 24^th September, 2014 at 2.00 pm

Life is really tough in the bleak Cerro Rico mining district in Potosi, Bolivia. Lucia (40), Ivonne (16) and Abigail (17) talk about their daily lives, in which they are constantly dealing with violence, much of it sexual.

• ·         One for the road by director Jack Zagha Kababie, PVR Andheri, 22^nd September, 2014 at 3.30

Three eighty-year-old men embark in a road trip in order to fulfil the dying wish of a lifelong friend. In spite of the disapproval of their families and the limitations of their advanced age, they find themselves involved in a series of comical misadventures and meet a cast of colourful characters.

• ·        To kill a man by director Alejandro Fernandez,, 23^rd September, 2014 at 9.00 pm

A working class man who, tired of being the victim of criminals, decides to take justice in his own hands. The film premiered in-competition in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at 2014 Sundance Film Festival on January 17, 2014.It won the Grand Jury Prize at the festival.

• ·         Aces by director Alfonso Zarauza, PVR Andheri, 28^th September, 2014 at 11.00 am

Neneta lives without responsibilities or plans in a motor home on the coast of Spain. When her partner, ‘Wolf’, disappears without explanation she decides to go back to her hometown in Galicia. All are difficulties, coming back to her mother, finding a job.

Other then these, audience will also get to see a lot of International movies from across the world and Indian movies made by eminent film-makers. JFF is an honest and sincere attempt by Jagran to spread this culture, and create a platform that connects great content with audiences across the country. The festival promises to be bigger and better this edition with both size and power over the years.
