The First 19 Hour '8 Prahar' Marathon Concert Held In Mumbai

Mumbai witnessed the first 19-hour '8 Prahar' marathon concert, where 19 leading musicians performed. ShashiVyas, son of Pandit CR Vyas, doyen of North Indian classical music of PanchamNishad, was one of the producers behind this event. Giving up his full-time chartered accountancy practice while at its peak, Shashi turned to his first love — classical music —and in March 1996 along with his group of chartered accountant friends, set up PanchamNishad, an institution with the sole objective to preserve and promote Indian cultural heritage of traditional music and dance, globally.
