Top 100 Movies of All Time… By Female Directors

Everyone has lists. AFI has lists. Spike Lee has lists. Sight & Sound has lists. But in all this listmaking, more often than not, female directors get shafted. Sure, some of that is the typical Academy frustration – that old dudes (or old straight white dudes, much of the time) are the majority of voters on many of the most renowned “top movies” lists. That said, we truly believe that a “best movies of all time” list can be compiled without a single male director.

So, we set out to do just that.
