New Delhi : Even as the Congress and the BJP cry foul over foreign funds received by the Aam Aadmi Party-led by Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, the two political arch rivals also accepted a combined Rs 29.2 cr from foreign sources. The Congress got Rs 9.83 crore while the BJP accounted for Rs 19.4 crore since 2004, it is learnt.

While AAP is facing a probe by the Home Ministry the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has moved Delhi High Court against Congress and BJP for violating the law that bans political parties from accepting funds from foreign companies or companies in India controlled by foreign firms.

The Congress and the BJP are receiving funds from Indian companies run by foreign groups, which the ADR says is as bad as receiving any funds directly from a foreign company.

Vedanta group of the London-based NRI Anil Agarwal is the single largest donor to both Congress and BJP. Its Sterile Industries India Limited donated Rs 6 crore to the Congress, while Sesa Goa Limited contributed another Rs 2.785 crore.
