Vidya Balan Admires Gender Neutrality In Cinema

Vidya Balan has a special admiration for directors, who do not carry the baggage of gender stereotypes in their films. A case in point being Sujoy Ghosh, whose latest outing 'Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh', stars the actress in the lead role. Vidya told BT, "I appreciate the way Sujoy understands women. When he writes his characters, he doesn't think in terms of gender stereotypes. He doesn't think women need to derive their identity from anyone else. He never thinks that he is making a women-centric film, he makes movies when he feels compelled to tell a story."
