“She takes care of herself, she is ahead of her time” is a line taken from one of my favourite songs “She’s always a Woman”. Yes, that’s how a woman is and should be. As we celebrate “Women’s Day” today what I thought being a woman why not talk about those women specially the B town beauties, the ladies who are the integral part of it.

In Bollywood movies are banked on the “Hero” or his name to sell the movies and women were mostly represented to acquire the mass appeal, to sing and dance around trees, perform “item” numbers and even play typically stereotypical roles such as that of the “maa,” “beti,” “loving wife or lover,” Well, Time has changed and Bollywood is taking the brave way forward to change “Status quo.” When industry is dominated mostly by men, here are a few women who’ve managed to inspire change and hold their own in this male dominated stronghold. These women have shown us that you don’t have to be a male or have a family background to succeed. All you need is hard work, determination, talent and the power to inspire change and most importantly the want to #BeTheChange.

Let’s salute these 6 women who have inspired us in Bollywood on this Women’s Day.
