2016 Golden Globes Continue The Conversation About Gender Equity In Hollywood

With Ricky Gervais bungling the female-forward punch line just five minutes into his gig as host, the 2016 Golden Globes proved a significant forum to further discussion about the wage gap and gender in Hollywood. Best Picture nominations, Comedy and Drama alike, included female-forward movies like Mad Max: Fury Road, Carol, Room, Joy, Trainwreck, and Spy, prompting commentators from outlets like NPR, IndieWire, Variety and The Guardian to herald 2015 the “year of women” in cinema.
