Docs every week encounter moms abandoned by their families for daring to continue daughters' treatment. In September last year, a woman from Bihar was abused by her father in front of the medical staff at the Tata Memorial Hospital in Parel, when she pleaded that her four-year-old daughter Munni Yadav's treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (a type of blood cancer) shouldn't be discontinued. She failed to persuade him and the girl was taken back to her village.
