Gender Gap Persists In Graduation, College-Going

It’s hard to ignore discrepancies between white students and those of color when it comes to academic achievement. There are national and local organizations devoted to bringing the issue to the forefront of policy discussions. But gender often has even more severe and untempered implications than race with regards to how prepared students are for college, whether students drop out of high school and whether they make it out of higher education. While local schools are equally urging men and women to attend the annual Kern County College Night Monday, data suggest fewer men will be eligible to attend those colleges than women.
