17 is a magic number. Apollo 17 went to the moon, Michelle Obama was born on January 17, John Lennon met Paul McCartney when he was 17, and I am 17 years old. But perhaps most importantly, the United Nations has 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are designed to increase the global standard of living. On September 25, 2015, countries around the world will commit to these 17 new global goals to achieve extraordinary things over the next 15 years. So what does all of this have to do with girls? How will these goals address the needs of girls globally?
