‘From the makers of Bodyguard ‘& ‘Salman Khan Presents’ are maketing gimmicks that might actually convince you to watch ‘O Teri’.
Movies like O Teri make you resolve that one should not watch movies on the first day till we have gone through at least 2 or 3 movie reviews.
O Teri is a senseless movie. Salman and Atul Agnihotri should pull their socks up and not spoil their equity by producing such type of movies.
The plot is good – a nexus between politicians and the media channels who are hand in glove with each other and cover up their scams for personal gains.
2 illiterate press reporters – Pulkit Samrat & Bilal Amrohi (named PP & AIDS respectively) who do not understand the basics of running a scam are kicked out of their jobs by their (corrupt) boss Sarah Jane Dias (Monsoon) as they are unable to provide newsworthy scam stories.
Anupam Kher (Khwaja) is a sports committee minister and Vijay Raaz (Kilol) is the leader of the opposition who wants to dethrone Anupam Kher from his chair by hook or crook. Anupam Kher is assisted by Mandira Bedi (Cherry) who has good media connections and is a very media savvy person.
So you see, every character is immoral and corrupt, except PP and AIDS who get embroiled in this war and are back stabbed by their boss Monsoon who is in nexus with Khwaja, Kilol & Cherry.
What follows is how all the corrupt people are exposed by PP & AIDS through the media and in the eyes of every News viewer across the country. Hats off to PP & AIDS but it is no less a feat to sit through this movie.
Two songs pop up within the starting few minutes of the movie and you instantly guess that the movie is short of content to move ahead.
A scene from ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ has been forcibly incorporated with several loopholes – A dead body of a Police Inspector shot by Kilol’s henchmen is stolen from the hospital morgue and dumped in PP & AIDS’s car. The corpse is then again kidnapped by Khwaja, which is rediscovered by PP & AIDS in the bridge collapse and seized by a Drunken Policeman during night patrolling and finally handed back to Khwaja.
How is that Khwaja, who is a sports minister is informed by the police that they have found a deceased Police Inspector and he may come claim the body if he would like to.
No one has acted well. Even senior actors like Anupam Kher and Vijay Raaz are just sleep walking through the entire movie. Vijay Raaz should be nominated for the best mobster award for mouthing very loud and unique crude cuss words. Pulkit Samrat, who showed lot of promise in ‘Fukrey’ tries to fit into the song and dance routine and fails miserably. Bilal Amrohi doesn’t know what to do. Mandira Bedi looks pretty and lost. Mohan Kapoor also does not have a clue about his purpose in this failed attempt of a film. Sarah Jane Dias fails at being a sexy showpiece.
O Teri – Exhausted, one must rush off to have some fresh air and cool drinks in this hot summer.
