The first thing I wondered after walking out of the theatre is, what is it? Is it a movie about the International Indian Film Academy Awards? Was there ever a story plot? I mean did they droll out all their brain cells while filming the entire movie? I’m glad that they didn’t spend half of their budget on marketing the film. Because half of it we would have already seen it!

The movie starts with Diljit Dosanjh as Teji a vasuli guy (recovery agent) who is desperate and aspires to become an actor and Sonakshi Sinha as Jeenal Patel, another aspiring fashion designer. Just in the midst of all the chaos they’re in, they find out that IIFA is looking for people with incredible talent and the selected ones would be a part of IIFA.

Boman Irani as Gary is the guy who’s been organizing IIFA awards for years in the Industry. Sophie (Lara Dutta) who works with Gary and manages the entire IIFA awards realizes that she’s been working for Gary’s company for really long and has invested herself too much into it and now deserves partnership in Gary’s company. She chooses Teji and Jeenal from the list of rejected candidates for IIFA’s talent hosts to take revenge on Gary.

The film is such a disaster. The background score is unsettling. There’s no clue about what’s happening. The worst part is Karan Johar’s double role. God! What was he thinking? I felt Bombay Velvet was way better to watch than this. Why would he want to be straight and gay at the same time?

Diljit Dosanjh is just intolerable to look at! Not all Punjabi Sardars are supposed to be annoying and idiotic. Sonakshi Sinha has delivered much better performances than this. Just wearing Gujarati attire didn’t make her a Gujarati girl. They are over enthusiastic which completely lacked in her performance. Lara Dutta was okay in a black hat role. Boman Irani, I wonder why was he there? What was so unique about his role as Gary?

And why have so many stars in the movie. The cameos of Salman Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Rana Daggubati used just as patches, to make an IIFA like documentary to look like a feature film. Not worth it!
