Consequently, health facilities in Temeke District are teaching mothers the 'Kangaroo Mother Care' technique which helps to keep a low birth weight baby warm and enables breastfeeding which provides protection from infection. Simple cost-effective solutions such as Kangaroo Mother Care can make a big difference in those vital first days of a small baby's life.
