‘”Aayi hai college mein padhne ke liye. Jab dekho taiyaar hai, ladne ke liye. Humne khaayi hai kasam, todenge iska guroor hum'” – Dil, 1990 (Aamir Khan). Dear Aamir Khan, The great thing about a democracy is that you can have an opinion and voice it, the downside is that it opens us up for all sorts of hypocrisy. Take you for instance; you, admittedly, didn’t watch the All India Bakchod roast, however, you chose to declare that you thought it was too violent and inappropriate. You also claimed to have scolded Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor for their poor taste and choices. Good on you mate, freedom of expression and art is only for perfectionists like you. Interestingly, you brought up your infamous film, Delhi Belly and very proudly declared that you ensured during the promotions, you informed audiences that it was for adults only. To be fair, AIB made very sure, not only with their trailer but also age restrictions, that the audience was very aware of what they were going to watch. But all of that is trivial Aamir, your disclaimer is more disclaim-ier than their disclaimer because you add that perfect garnish of practiced self-righteousness. Aamir, I don’t have a problem with you being preachy but I do have a problem that I didn’t receive any warning prior to watching your films like Dhoom 3, Ishq and PK, which I assure you were more traumatic to watch, than the AIB roast. Like you said, “Violence does not mean only physical, it can be verbal too. When you insult someone, you are perpetuating violence.” You insulted my intelligence with your films and now, like everyone else on the internet, I am offended.
