In this week’s episode of Off Centre, Anuradha SenGupta speaks to Manipuri Human Rights Activist Irom Sharmila who ended her almost sixteen year-long fast in August.  In the candid conversation, Irom talks about her struggles and acknowledges the fact that since her unique way of protesting for getting the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act repealed from Manipur did not fetch her the desired results, she has decided to enter electoral politics. In her first full-length TV interview, Irom also talks about the hardships faced by Manipur residents and her future strategy to achieve what she has been aiming for nearly two decades.
