The 56-year-old Oscar-winner has joined other female stars including Maggie Gyllenhaal and Helen Mirren in criticising sexism in showbiz and said that the world was in a worse state since she had known it to be, particularly for women, the Guardian reported. Thompson expressed her feelings by saying when she was younger she used to think that they were on way to a better world and when she looked at it now, it had deteriorated and she finds it very disturbing and sad.
