Jack Johnson has released a new live EP, with all proceeds going to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation to support environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawai’i. The EP was recorded live last fall on his From Here To Now To You Theater tour, where Johnson and his band treated fans to intimate performances at some of the world’s greatest music theaters. As part of Earth Day last week, Jack surprised Mililani Mauka Elementary School to a special lunchtime performance for being the school to collect the most bottle caps in the 2014 Hawaii School Bottle Cap Challenge sponsored by Kokua Hawaii Foundation. Through this challenge, 21,862 pounds of plastic bottle caps were collected and diverted from Hawaiʻi’s waste stream. The plastic caps collected have been sent to California, where they will be recycled into new products, including Method’s Ocean Plastic bottle and Preserve toothbrush and razor handles.
