Moreno talks Hollywood at charity luncheon

Legendary actress, singer and dancer Rita Moreno was in Tampa on Thursday as Keynote Speaker for the Philanthropic Women of St. Joseph’s sixth annual luncheon.

Wearing a three-piece black-and white Pant ensemble, Moreno charmed the sold-out crowd with nuggets from her first memoir, “Rita Moreno.”

The stunning 82-year-old shared tidbits about her storied acting career, her Broadway debut at age 13, and signing a contract with MGM Studios.

She was called a “Spanish Elizabeth Taylor ” by studio executives.Moreno went on to star in films such as “The King and I” and West Side Story, ” for which she became the first Hispanic to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress , in 1969
