Mrs Brown’s Boys’ actor Gary Hollywood and rock’n’roll bagpipers the Red Hot Chilli Pipers star at a fundraiser in Killearn for ex-Celtic player John Hartson’s charity next month.

Gary – who has just finished filming the movie version of the hit comedy – is hosting the annual Big Shindig, held in memory of Balfron woman Lisa Morrison who lost her battle to cervical cancer in February 2012.

Proceeds from this year’s event are going to The John Hartson Foundation, set up by the ex-Hoops hero following his 2009 battle with testicular cancer which spread to his lungs and brain and left him fighting for life.

Gary, who plays hairdresser Dino in the BBC smash-hit, has agreed to be an ambassador for the Foundation and revealed he had his own cancer scare back in 2000 when he found two lumps on his testicles.

He said: “I was only 21 and didn’t think anything could be wrong as I had no idea about testicular cancer. It took me a year to go to the doctor and everything was fine but given what John went through I’m well aware now that it could have been so different.
