Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) 2014 announces its Call for Entries

India’s largest women film festival is back with its second edition. The festival scheduled in the month of December from 6th to 13th 2014 promises to deliver a great deal of opportunity to filmmakers this year as well with its added features and elements to . Hosted in the city of dreams – Mumbai and organized by Oculus Creation, the festival is calling for entries. Organized with an aim to uplift the women filmmakers and give them the ‘center stage’ in the film industry by recognizing their talent internationally, the festival carved its name in the industry through its initiative taken for women filmmakers.

The festival this year as well renders a lot of opportunities for the filmmakers to show up their talent in filmmaking thorough categories like Short films, Short Documentary films, Full-length Documentary Films and Feature films in competitive section and World Cinebusters and World Panorama in Non-competitive section. The films made after 1stJanuary 2012 are only applicable for the submission. Head of Film Department, Mr. Ravi Hathalia says, “After an overwhelming response received in the first edition of the festival, the second edition of the festival comes with a lot of hope and shine from around the world.

Also with the inclusion of female film producers in the eligibility criteria, the festival expects a good response in this year’s edition. ” The festival will feature networking parties, workshops, screening Opening and closing ceremony and Open-air screening.
