In our everyday lives, we often overlook the heroes we come across in our everyday life. While celebrating the success of fictional heroes there's a need to talk about the heroes who live amongst us. The unsung.

To celebrate the ordinary, we have Neelesh Mishra, the famous journalist as the host of the show. He is loved by millions of listeners across the country. The show aims to bring forth the issues which impact lives dearly, yet have been untold so far. The Quint, India's premier digital news platform, and Quint Hindi have entered into a unique collaboration with the well-loved oral storyteller and his venture, Gaon Connection – India's biggest rural media platform – to offer unique content to Hindi and English audiences.

This show stands out amongst the mediocrity. The message is loud and clear. Our heroes live among us, fighting their own battles, finding new tracks for themselves, and paving new ways for others. But often, we fail to recognize them. But not anymore.

All stories featured would examine the changing face of India. This ‘one of a kind’ show is an endeavour at diving deeper into the lives of those who fall between the cracks of ‘Breaking News’ tickers and headlines.

The Neelesh Misra show premiered on 27th February 2018. The show will consist of 26 episodes and is available on Quint Hindi's YouTube channel & Facebook account as well.

Misra says “at Gaon Connection we have been telling stories related to the heartland for five years now. But it is really exciting for me personally that we are collaborating with The Quint to take these stories to a far bigger, English and Hindi speaking audience in urban India. I hope our show will help them better understand issues that are often on the margins of mainstream media.”

Starring in the first episode of "The Neelesh Misra Show" are three young women – Sheelu Singh Rajput, Priya Kumari, and Dimpi Tiwari. Hailing from villages and hamlets across different parts of India, these three young women refused to abide by society's constraints and set new rules for themselves. You too come forward, discover the tale of these three young women.

The show will be dealing with stories such as that of Sheelu Singh Rajput. When Sheelu Singh, a resident of Raibareili in Uttar Pradesh, dreamt of becoming an "Aalha" singer, she did not know that she was paving the way for many other young girls like her. In the village she hails from, girls have to think twice before even dancing on Bollywood songs at their own family functions. But Sheelu was certain she wanted to become an "Aalha" singer.

"Aalha" is a form of folk song from Bundelkhand, that was only sung by men. That was, of course, before Sheelu stepped into the picture. Not only did she enter this thoroughly male-dominated sphere, she also garnered a lot of acclaim and fame. In the last few years, Sheelu Singh Rajput has risen to become a big name in the "Aalha" music scene.
