Pin The Creep: Annual Crime Report Says One Third Of Mumbai’s Women Vulnerable To Attacks

Over a third of Mumbai’s women feel unsafe, with almost 47 per cent jump in cases of rape, molestation and

sexual assaults in the year 2014-15, according to a report of the Praja Foundation.

Mumbai continues to have one of the highest number of recorded crimes against women in Maharashtra, followed by Yavatmal, Thane, Pune and Ahmednagar.

As per the report, in 2012-13, there were 294 registered cases of rape in Mumbai, followed by 793 cases of molestation. Recorded rape cases jumped to 432 in 2013-14 while 1,209 cases of molestation were registered in the 91 police stations across the city during the same year.
