Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her husband Abhishek Bachchan played hosts at an AIDS charity gala at Cannes on Thursday night. The Bollywood star couple hosted a number of A-list celebrities from across the world at the Cinema Against AIDS 2014 event organised by amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research. The annual star-studded event was held at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France. Aishwarya Rai, who has made heads turn to her stunning red carpet appearances at the 67th Cannes Film Festival, outshined at the event in a shimmery Armani gown. The floor-length gown from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection featured flared top and a skirt. The 40-year-old actress completed her elegant ensemble with bold red lip colour and turquoise eye shadow. Abhishek Bachchan, who co-hosted the event along with his wife, opted for an impressive black long bandhgala suit (an Indian outfit featuring closed neck jacket and trousers). “Tonight to the 21st annual Cinema Against AIDS event with the Mrs. to support @amfAR’s mission to find a cure for HIV,” the 38-year-old actor wrote on Twitter ahead of the gala.
