City drinking water not fit for human consumption

Thirty-five out of 62 water samples collected in last three days have been found unfit for drinking. This also includes six out 20 water samples collected from different city localities by District Epidemic Control Unit (DECU) Allahabad on Wednesday. A team of DECU officials had collected water samples from 20 different locations including High Court road, Beli hospital, Beli gav choto masjid, Stanley road, Rajapur trisection, Katju Bagh colony, Om Gayatrinagar, Chandpur Salori, Shukla market, Malakraj, ADC Tiraha, Rajarshi Mandapam, Zero road. After conducting OT (Ortho Tolidine test) examination, samples collected from Chota Baghara, Om Gayatrinagar , Rajarshi Mandapum , Zero road, and Beli road were found negative during testing. In charge of DECU, Dr SD Dwivedi, told TOI that their team used to collect samples from different parts of the city every day to ascertain the quality of chlorination that makes water potable.
