Scientists around the world are predicting several weather changes in 21st century that will affect many geographic areas, these changes include higher maximum and minimum temperatures more hot days and heat waves, more intense precipitation and increased summer drying and risk of drought. It is well known fact that there is a drastic change in climate around the globe due to global warming; the fast melting of glaciers in the Himalayas is of course a worrisome matter. Currently the world?s ecosystem instead of maintaining and enhancing nature?s carbon capture and storage capacity are being depleted at an alarming rate. Some 20% of greenhouse gas emissions are coming from the clearing and burning of forest. The vast carbon bank in peat lands and the tundra are threatened by drainage and thawing and many agriculture soils are degraded or degrading. Trees and shrubs play a vital role in the daily life of rural communities. They provide source of timber for fuel, wood, fodder, food, essential oils, gums, resins and latex, medicines and shade. Forest animals have a vital role in forest ecology such as pollination, seed dispersal and germination. At present world is covered by approximate 30% forest. This is atleast 1/3rd less than before the dawn of agriculture. Global deforestation continues around 13 million hectares per year. Mankind needs to replant the earth to restore balance in ecosystem in order to survive. Trees have played a critical role in maintaining safe levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide in atmosphere for millions of years.
